Inspiring Excellence, Empowering Young Women

Welcome to Janta Girls’ College, Ellenabad — a place built on the belief that when you educate a girl, you transform a community.

The college’s broader purpose connects to a larger truth about how societies develop. When a woman is educated, the benefits rarely stop with her alone. She tends to pass on values, discipline, and aspiration to her children, often becoming the first teacher a child knows, and a household where the mother is literate and informed tends to invest more in the next generation’s health and schooling. Educated women also participate more fully in the workforce and in local economies, contribute to decision-making within their families and communities, and are better equipped to challenge social practices that hold women back, such as early marriage or restricted mobility. At a community level, this adds up to lower poverty, better public health outcomes, and more balanced social development. At a national level, it strengthens the talent pool available across every sector, from teaching and healthcare to administration and entrepreneurship.

This is precisely the logic the Welfare Trust recognised when it built this college from the outset. By placing an affordable institution for girls in an area that had been educationally underserved, and by drawing students from villages spanning both Haryana and Rajasthan, the trust didn’t just create a local school — it created a channel through which an entire belt of rural society could see its women move into classrooms, then into careers, and then into roles as decision-makers in their own homes and communities.

Today, the continued generosity of our trustees keeps that pathway open. We are proud to stand as a living example of how investing in women’s education pays forward — into stronger families, stronger communities, and a stronger nation.
We warmly welcome you to be part of this journey.
